Tell us what you think.
And please feel free to leave any comments you have about Compassion Fayetteville.
Fayetteville, on the whole, lacks a commitment to cultural diversity. To my knowledge we have never had a person of color on our city council, nor have there been any people of color elected to the legislature from here. The NWA Times generally reports on people of color in local news only when they’re involved in crimes. Top city staff are, as far as I can tell, all white. Most prominent local citizens in leadership positions are white. It’s time to call out this city for its institutional biases.
Thank you so much for your comment. Compassion Fayetteville is about acting on the change we want to see in our community. If you have suggestions on ways to address this issue, please feel free to share them here. And if you would like to be part of a Compassion Action Planning Committee, please let us know. The committee will begin by creating a 1 year action plan and it will be part of our effort to become an official city of compassion.
