Diversity, Education and Compassion Interview

Listen to Leslie Yingling, Director, University of College Access Initiative in charge of Diversity Affairs Office Reach as she talks about the financial challenges of foreign students and those who step forward with financial help.

Leslie was born in Winslow, and is first generation college student. She understands the situation of those students that she works with in the College Access program. This is especially relevant because Chancellor Gearhart was one of 80 University presidents invited to White House two weeks ago by President Obama to discuss assisting first generation and low income applicants prepare for, enter, and stay in college. This invitation came to Chancellor Gearhart as the result of a plan that U of A submitted as how to address these challenges.
